Definition: 'new' Healthy Schools Process
Schools play an important role in supporting the health and well-being of children and young people. The 'new' Healthy Schools Process is designed to help schools to ‘plan, do and review’ health and well-being improvements for their children and young people and to identify and select activities and interventions effectively. This approach will ensure schools put in place the most appropriate services and meet the needs of children and young people. The 'new' Surrey Healthy Schools Process is based on a health behaviour change approach for schools. The process involves: .Identifying your needs and priorities through the 'Whole School Review' .Planning your actions to support the priorities using the 'Whole School Planning Template' .Carrying out and evaluating your actions/project, then .Completing the ‘School Story Template’.
Minimum evidence required:
- A needs/priority analysis - using the Whole School Review
- A plan for supporting the identified needs/priorities - using the Whole School Planning Template
- An evaluation which shows the impact of your actions/project - using the School Story Template
- When you have completed the above please send your School Story Template to vivian.stacey@babcock.co.uk
