PSHE and Citizenship Leaders - Primary Network Meetings

The Surrey Healthy Schools team has been successfully facilitating PSHE and citizenship support groups for all PSHE and healthy schools co-ordinators/teachers over the past four years. These twilight sessions provide support for colleagues in all aspects of co-ordination and delivery of PSHE and citizenship and will provide excellent opportunities to network and share practice with other schools.

Secondary PSHE-Leader Network Meetings

These new termly network meetings provide support for colleagues in all aspects of co-ordination and delivery of PSHE. Each meeting will have a specific focus along with regular information, publications and resource updates. These are also excellent opportunities to network, to share practice with other schools and to gain confidence in the delivery of PSHE.

Refreshing Circle Time and SEAL (Primary)

This course will enable participants to explore key issues around the effective delivery of circle time and SEAL and the key role they play in supporting the delivery of personal, social, health and citizenship education (PSHCE). Bereavement, Loss and Critical Incidents (Primary and Secondary)

Promoting Staff Health and Well-Being (Primary and Secondary)

Looking for ways of supporting your staff? A third of all teachers working in schools in England and Wales took sick leave last year as a result of job-related stress. We know that healthy and motivated staff will perform better and that this will be of benefit for the pupils and colleagues with which we work. As part of the whole healthy school approach, the Surrey Healthy Schools Team recognises the importance of valuing and promoting staff health and well-being. This one-day event will look at practical ways to help schools support and enhance the emotional health and well-being of staff and develop a healthier, more effective work place.

Assessment in PSHE (Primary)

Assessment in PSHE Education will be an informative and practical course based on best practice, Ofsted findings, QCA guidance and active teaching and learning. It will give participants the opportunity to reflect upon current practice, and will support with directing and structuring interactive methods to help tailor the curriculum to meet pupil need. It will support schools in truly understanding the nature and purpose of PSHE Education and help them find ways of measuring the impact of their teaching upon learning.
