Epsom Downs Primary School and Children's Centre Case Studies

  School Council

The pupils volunteer to be on the school council. They have to write or produce a poster of their manifesto and the others in the class vote for the best boy and girl in the class. The key achievements of the school council include working on the behaviour and bullying policy, raising the issues of the pupils’ toilets which are now going to be improved and raising money for school improvements and to support certain charities. The year 6 pupils take it in turn to take the minutes on a laptop and these are displayed on the school council notice board. The pupils also set the agendas. The school council are proactive in writing to local companies for donations for raffles and for new equipment for the school.
