School Mediators |
| |
| This is a new project. Pupils were selected on the basis of an application form and then provided with appropriate support/training, which they found to be very helpful. Pupils wear green bibs when on duty at break time and lunchtime. They were able to talk openly about bullying and had some innovative suggestions such as a ‘bullying box’ which they hoped to take forward.

Lunchtime Committee |
| |
| A representative from each year group has been voted onto the lunchtime committee. Pupils take the top two issues from their year group back to the committee. Pupils felt their role so far had been both interesting and surprising!
They hoped to make changes to the following (amongst others):
increase the choice of sandwich fillings;
increase the choice of hot foods e.g. curries;
allow pupils who bring packed lunches to occasionally sit with their friends who have school dinners; have theme weeks e.g. Indian, Chinese, American; have more fruit.
The dining room is shortly to be painted and the pupil representatives had been consulted about the choice of colour. The pupils had some innovative ideas about lunch times, such as giving some of the older pupils opportunities to take on a waitressing role to help the lunchtime supervisors.
