Applying for a Surrey Healthy Schools Award

Schools play an important role in supporting the physical and emotional health and well-being of children and young people. The Surrey Healthy Schools Scheme is based on a health behaviour change approach for schools and is designed to help schools to ‘plan, do and review’ health and well-being improvements for their children and young people in order to identify and select activities and interventions effectively. This approach will ensure schools put in place the most appropriate services and meet the needs of children and young people.

There are three levels to the Surrey Healthy Schools Status: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

You decide which award is suitable to your school, staff and pupils at any given time. There is no requirement to progress to another award, until your school is ready and chooses to do so.
